Old San Juan's modern gateway into another world
Hotel Rumbao
Known for its rum made from pure sugar cane, Puerto Rico is always up for a vibrant and colorful celebration. Hotel Rumbao, a Tribute Portfolio hotel in Old San Juan, dances to the beat rumbling through the adoquín brick streets. And that dance is la rumba. With charismatic romanticism and hometown pride right on Calle Brumbaugh, Hotel Rumbao doesn’t just dance, it invites you to dance into the night together.
Old San Juan was originally a walled city with only six gates all people and shipments could pass through. Hotel Rumbao, situated on the harbor at the edge of this historic city, is a new gateway to another time and place, energetically represented in the branding.
Immersed in the history of the last five centuries
The visual identity boasts a custom “R” for Rumbao, with an old key splitting the letter at the waist. The teeth of this key are a silhouette of those Old San Juan puertas, referenced in stories and folklore every day.
While Hotel Rumbao embodies the vibrancy and color of its spaces and personality, it takes a complementary role with the color palette. Simplicity provides an Old World juxtapose against the modern renovations of the physical space.
