The story of escape

Shaner Hotel Group was in the midst of adding villas to a resort in Eleuthera and converting the condo development into a Marriott Autograph Collection property. The development was called French Leave, but what did it mean? B&Co. was hired to fully develop the story and brand.

We explored the island, spoke to locals and learned the history behind the phrase – a British term, meaning to escape without notice. The tongue-in-cheek reference inspired both our branding and guest experience.

With 90 miles of unspoiled pink sand, Governor’s Harbour showcases an ever-changing array of colors as the sun and clouds move across the sky. Our branded design needed to reflect the sea and the airy peacefulness of the region, while still being polished and welcoming. Soft washes of watercolor were drawn from the water and relaxed vibe of the island.

From an amazing arrival experience to personal notes written by staff upon departure, French Leave Resort delivers a special destination worlds away from the stress of everyday life.
