Branding A Growing Destination

THE CHALLENGE

Just outside Charleston on the Isle of Palms, Wild Dunes came to us with a collection of brands—but no unifying system to bring them together. The first priority was to define a clear, compelling brand story for the parent Wild Dunes Resort, strong enough to anchor every experience on the property.

The opportunity was to create a branded house that reflects the resort’s full experience, not just its individual properties.

A clear and compelling story

Wild Dunes offers something rare: a full-service resort community just outside Charleston that feels connected to the city yet distinctly secluded. That balance became the foundation of the brand story.

Rather than position Wild Dunes as an extension of Charleston, we established it as a destination in its own right, where guests can experience the easy rhythms of the coast at their own pace.

A variety of hospitality experiences under one master brand gave Wild Dunes cohesive messaging and visuals.

Across Sweetgrass Inn, Boardwalk Inn, The Residences at Sweetgrass, Vacation Homes, Championship Golf, and the beaches of Isle of Palms, each offering was given its own identity, message, and story, all grounded in a shared visual and strategic foundation.

Together, these distinct brands reflect the full range of the Wild Dunes experience, from refined and restorative to relaxed and playful. Each speaks to its own audience while remaining unmistakably connected to the broader resort story.

A Destination in Its Own Right

To bring that system to life, we delivered a comprehensive Brand Book with technical guidelines and key messaging to guide the marketing of the 2.5-mile oceanfront property.

The result is a clearer, more cohesive expression of Wild Dunes. Rather than navigating a collection of disconnected offerings, guests can easily understand the range of experiences available and choose the stay that feels right for them. Each brand maintains its own personality and appeal while remaining connected to a single, recognizable resort identity.
