The Milwaukee County Zoo hadn’t updated their website in over a decade. Driving more online ticket sales and updating digital tools to enhance the zoo experience was the top priority. The project gave us the opportunity to create a new visual identity in the process.

The Milwaukee County Zoo is extensively known for its diverse and interactive habitats and offerings. Everyone knows what a classic zoo experience entails, but the Milwaukee County Zoo wanted to build the excitement before visitors even stepped foot inside the gates.

Rather than developing a traditional website, we emphasized the user experience above all. We created a stroll-the-site experience much like the zoo itself, stopping often to be surprised and delighted.
The new website includes interactive elements like a Zoo Map and “Meet Our Animals” profiles. Weekly events, the zoo’s conservation efforts and an online gift shop are now eye-catching and accessible to the viewer, as well as easily edited from the backend. With a contracted developer, we created an easy-to-navigate and easy-to-populate website.
In a glowing example of what we like to call “branding by website,” the pages are sprinkled with a new visual art-style, like animal tracks across the screen and new playful messaging complete with plenty of puns.
